Semester 2 Timetable Changes

Dear members of our school community,

As we reach the halfway point of the school year and our students commence a well-earned break, it is important to reflect on what has been a busy and successful semester for the David Scott School. The mid-year break also provides opportunity for the school leadership to review and evolve the school’s education model to ensure we are maximising opportunities for success for all our students and to this end, there are some adjustments that need to be conveyed to our families.

Timetable:

Breakfast Club will operate from 8.30 am to provide a healthy and nutritious start to the school day.

School will commence at 9.00am whereby students will participate in a 25 minute “homestead” session that provides a valuable opportunity to connect with teachers and wellbeing staff to ensure each student is ready to learn. This time may also be used by students to utilise 1 to 1 academic support to complete assessment tasks.

The school will dismiss at 3 pm each day and students are expected to attend for the whole day except where individual circumstances have been negotiated with the Principal.

A reminder that school will re-commence on Monday 15th July 2019. We look forward to welcoming our families back for a successful Term 3.

Yours sincerely

Catherine Arnold Principal

I really appreciate being at this school, in fact, being a student here has changed my life. I love that I have been able to experience new things and that the lessons we are taught are relevant to my life outside of the school too.

At the David Scott School in my class I really enjoy applying my learning in real-world contexts, I prefer working hands-on and after completing my VCAL I hope to find a successful career in the construction field.
