MILLIE - Therapy Dog

Millie is an important member of the David Scott School Wellbeing Team and is responsible for using her amazing skills in supporting our students. She has undergone therapy dog training with K9 Support which included thorough temperament and standards testing.
Millie - Therapy Dog
Her favourite hobbies are:

Making friends

Food

Swimming

How Millie helps our students:

Reducing stress and anxiety

Reducing aggression

Assisting engagement for new and existing students

Emotional regulation

Improving mood

Social connections

Self esteem

Empathy

You may find Millie out and about during the day on yard duty, welcoming students to school or assisting a young person to feel calmer, less anxious or stressed or to re-engage in their learning. Sometimes this may include a short walk with the student to divert attention from any immediate stresses or issues.

As her day can get busy, you might find her taking a well-earned break with the wellbeing team.

As dog therapy is an integral part of our program students are educated on engaging with Millie. For further information please see our dog therapy policy.
