Leadership Changes at David Scott School

Dear Students, Families and the David Scott School Community,

After five tremendous years at David Scott School, Principal Catherine Arnold will step down from her role and has accepted a new role commencing later in the year. In this new role, Catherine will be working off-campus with other education leaders.

We thank Catherine for her dedication and contribution to our school.

Under her leadership, the David Scott School grew from 30 to 120 students and to a staff of 38, dedicated to supporting our students. It has since the beginning achieved outstanding tangible learning outcomes.

Catherine has been instrumental in the development of a robust and innovative school model that engages young people in education and harnesses their strengths to help them navigate a pathway to adulthood. Her contribution leaves a lasting legacy.

A search for a new Principal will commence shortly.

In the meantime, Stacey Bushell, who is currently Assistant Principal, will take on the role of Acting Principal. Stacey has stepped in as Acting Principal before and knows the school and many of you well.
We expect things to very much continue as usual.

Catherine will take some time off before commencing in her new role, which will enable her to pursue her passion for creating innovative and engaging education pathways for young people. We wish her all the best and look forward to continuing our work with her.

If you have any questions about this announcement or concerns about its impact on your young person, please speak with their teacher, or contact Stacey at stacey.bushell@bsl.org.au
