INTRODUCING: HOLLY HOOD
We would like to thank Piano’s Recycled for their generous donation of our newest school asset, “Holly” Hood the piano. The piano was provided to the school free of charge through a new initiative “PREPS”. The program aims to provide recycled but functional pianos to schools for use in the school yard.
This Beale player piano badged as “Hood” was manufactured in Australia in the 1920s and may have had many homes over the last 101 years, with its new home being our school. The David Scott School is very excited about the piano’s history and cannot wait to see (and hear) students playing the piano during their break times.
The Piano will also provide educational opportunities to our students around the topic of sustainability and will be utilised as part of a ‘street piano’ art design where the piano will be re-painted through a youth-led design project that
will enhance the school yard with colour and music.
