FLAGS FOR NAIDOC WEEK

The David Scott School proudly displays its new flags on the flagpole at the front of the High Street site. We would like to acknowledge the generous support of Federal Member for Dunkley, Peta Murphy who gifted the flags to our school through the Constituents’ Request

Program. The flags allows us to celebrate the diversity of  our school community and is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate our pride and respect for the histories, cultures and contributions of Australia’s First Peoples. Flying our flags promotes a sense of community partnership and a commitment toward reconciliation, which is more important than ever during NAIDOC week 2021. NAIDOC 2021 invites the nation to embrace First Nations’ cultural knowledge and understanding of Country as part of Australia’s national heritage and equally respect the culture and values of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islanders as they do the cultures and values of all Australians.
